Topic > Statement of Intent for a Masters in International...

EnglandSince high school I have developed a strong interest in health issues, particularly public health and research, as I hold the view that the promotion of health and lifestyle improvement is a driver for addressing current global health problems. That's why I enrolled at Pokhara University, where I graduated first in my class, with honors from the Bachelor of Public Health program. Therefore, I would like to apply for a Masters in International Public Health Nutrition at the University of Westminster. I believe that my academic results and skills recommend me for a limited number of internships at the University. My background and experience have given me considerable knowledge on how to handle people and situations while being a team player. Prior to my graduation, I held various leadership positions including Team Leader (Volunteer) for Nutrition, Hygiene and Sanitation Wing at Matsyanarayan Ecological Conservation Trust (MECT), Syangja, Nepal (October 2011-December 2012). I have conducted various awareness campaigns on complementary feeding practices, basic hygiene and sanitation, low-cost toilet construction, water filtration and treatment techniques and school health program in rural Nepal. Similarly, I worked as secretary of Pokhara University Public Health Students Association (APPS) for the duration of 1 year (January 2010-January 2011). I am currently employed as a Public Health Officer at Youth Power Nepal (January 2013-present). , which is a nationally recognized non-governmental, non-profit social organization actively working in prison health, prison reform, drug prevention and HIV/AIDS prevention programs. As a public health official, I am involved in providing myself the privilege of creating new relationships with people of different cultures, and Norway "The Land of the Midnight Sun" has always been my desired destination to study. I am also aware of the kind of dedication and perseverance that I will have to have to achieve the best results in the field, since this program is very competitive and attracts highly motivated students, but I am convinced that my good academic record and my work experience give me a strong recommendation to take up a place. I believe I will be a positive addition to your team, I will fit in well and be a useful member of the community, as I love volunteering and being active in social causes and campaigns. I think it matches my research interests and profile perfectly. I would be honored if you decided to accept my application as a master's student at the University of Westminster.
