Levitt and Dubner make their book an all-encompassing read because anyone can read it from any walk of life and not be offended in the process. The authors use contrast in a seamless conversational style. The pair writes about how today's society is doing its best to find ways to reduce the crime rate. They then go on to say that "some people say we don't do a very good job" (18), and then immediately refute that comment by stating, "but looking long term, this is clearly not true" (18). The authors are extremely clever in their writing style because they show readers the opinions of some, and then prove that they are factually incorrect.
