In the article entitled "The daughter of a Mexican official closes the restaurant because she didn't get the table she wanted" gives us the opportunity to explore a Current event in Mexico society and the influence of social media we try to see through the eyes of both Karl Marx and Emile Durkheim. We will focus on Karl Marx's conflict theory of capitalism and Emile Durkheim's dynamic density theory of structural functionalism. Both theories remain relevant today, and there is a correlation regarding the effect of social media on selfish and altruistic states of anomic suicide in today's society. In summary, the Mexican government investigated an incident in April at a Mexico City bistro involving allegations that Andrea Benitez, the daughter of Humberto Benitez Trevino (the federal attorney general for consumer protection) sent inspectors to closing a bistro that hadn't given her the table she was promised. After inspectors overreacted to the allegations; Showing up with "suspended" signs and suspending two of the restaurant's permits (which covered reservations and liquor sales), Trevino ordered a halt to the raid and apologized for his daughter's inappropriate behavior. Due to the easily accessible nature of social media, thousands of unenthusiastic Mexican citizens tweeted about the incident with hash tags and photographs.
