The Chrysalis: The Importance of Telepathy Some people dream of having the ability to communicate through mental telepathy. Some even claimed to have this ability, but it played an important role in the novel The Chrysalis. The author has created an interesting environment. There was no communication and the only people who could communicate with each other were those who had the power of telepathy. Because in some areas the land was so dangerous due to radiation that people were separated from one another and left on a small piece of land. They couldn't communicate. The thought forms not only developed the plot of the story, but greatly influenced the lives of some characters and could influence Waknuk. We all know that the people in Waknuk were very superstitious, but did they really help the plot develop? From page 91 to page 103 the idea finally emerges that some people are able to communicate through thought forms. When Katherine and Sally were captured and tortured, they finally told some of the names to the inspector. This forces David, Rosalind and Petra to escape to the fringes and they make some sort of contact with a woman from Sealant (Zealand, on page 134). The help promised by the sealer is now on the margins. The plot is heavily influenced, David learns more things as time goes by. He finds out who Spiderman (Gordon) is and where Sophie is. He meets them and discovers what it means to live on the margins. When the sealing woman rescues David, Rosalind and Petra, they are taken to a large, developed city, similar to the one in David's dreams. Thanks to telepathy David discovers that such a city really exists but above all through Petra they come into contact with a people more civilized than them. Due to conflicts in the story, the main characters are led to discover the city of sealants. Telepathy not only affects the plot of the story, but also the main characters of the novel. The most obvious thing is that David, Rosalinda and Petra are saved. They have the opportunity to learn, experience new things they have never seen or heard before.
