When asked to name a successful company, what names come to mind? Google, Apple, Toyota? What about companies that are incredibly successful and yet go mostly under the radar of the average person? The company called Deloitte is one such company. It is well known among people who need its services or study in the field of auditing and consulting, this company grossed over $32 billion in the fiscal year 2012 to 2013. (Deloitte website) It can trace its history in the late 1800s, when William Welch Deloitte was appointed the first private auditor of a public company, the Great Western Railway. From those humble beginnings, his company has grown to have offices in 150 different countries and employs over 200,000 professionals. Deloitte is one of the "Big 4" accounting firms in the world, sharing this title with firms such as Ernst & Young. This company didn't get there overnight, nor did it throw together some ideas and hope it would work. In this article we will take a look at three of the points that this company focuses on. First, this article will focus on motivation. what is it, how does Deloitte implement motivation theory in the workplace? Secondly we will look at Deloitte's workplace diversity. What are their diversity policies and how well do they work? Finally, we'll take a look at employee attitudes and overall satisfaction. How do current and former employees view the company, what do they like, what do they hate, and would they go back? Motivation First let's start with motivation, what is motivation?
