Throughout history, society has introduced several questions that we, as a people, must answer. However, none of these answers can satisfy everyone and has some negative drawbacks. The editors of Searching for Great Ideas agree with this statement based on what they said on page 30… Some current issues that can be examined are gender and sexual equality in society, access to education and healthcare . I believe the world's most important issues involve healthcare in some way. One of these questions that I think is of utmost importance is that our health insurance system is tied to employment. Health insurance is usually provided by the employer, with a contribution from the employee; but more than ever, we have many people working part-time or working in non-traditional ways (such as at home). Therefore, it limits many people from receiving health insurance and proposes “do you think all Americans should have health insurance?” I believe, like most people, that everyone should be able to have health insurance if they want it. This causes several subcategory questions to also be formulated from this question. As a future Doctor, these will be questions I will have to deal with on a daily basis. While I won't have the authority to change some important healthcare laws, I do have the power to comfort my patients in their difficult times. Do we have a moral obligation to provide healthcare to all as needed, or is healthcare a problem? commodity that should be subject to the same market influences as other commodities? I believe everyone should receive healthcare; otherwise, healthcare will be subject to the same issues as education. For example... half the sheet... the solution to contain it. One solution (or theoretical models to explain it through gravity, nuclear physics, atomic physics and more) cannot solve the problem. One component is also left out of the equation; the computer cannot simulate the exploding star. One solution cannot solve a problem with democracy, agrees with the book Finding Big Ideas (on page 30...). I believe the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) contains, in embryonic form, the provisions to move the nation in the right direction, but it will require several steps in legislation to arrive at a reasonable solution.
