Amazon DistributionIs Amazon a bubble ready to burst? The following discussions in this research paper will explore several key issues from its inception to its questionable future. Amazon is no stranger to discussions revolving around questions of its longevity and success. When the systemic bubble of 1999 arrived, Amazon's corporate goal was to get big, do it fast, and conquer new markets before any other competitor. During this time Amazon began to expand and sell everything. With the bursting of the Internet bubble in 2000 and 2001, Amazon changed its focus from growth to aggressively making profits in all areas of its business. In 2001, Amazon's founder and CEO stated in a Wall Street Journal article: “We will fiercely manage the products we sell so that we only sell profitable products. A thirty pound box of nails is not long for our world” (Elmer-DeWitt, 2001). Amazon remains true to its model and continues to provide goods at low prices and provide deliveries in the shortest time possible. . Amazon maintains the practice of making sure that every product it sells generates a profit. However, the debate remains open especially among investors who expect a return on their investments. Forrester Research CEO George Colony stated in a New York Times article that “At some point, the piper will have to get paid.” As? “Raising prices. I don't see any other way” (Streitfeld, 2013). Nearly twenty years ago, an individual named Jeff Bezos had a vision. He saw the financial potential with the growth of the Internet.
