Second, people don't die from marijuana like they die from cigarettes, alcohol, or the tons of other legal things people die from every day. Therefore, legalizing marijuana is a great idea, it helps people with serious illnesses, people don't die from its use like they die from using other legal things, and even Colorado recently legalized marijuana for recreational use. First, it is great for people with serious illnesses and diseases. There has been a huge controversy over Medicinal Marijuana; which is legalizing marijuana for people with a prescription for certain illnesses or diseases. As the son of a mother involved in the medical marijuana program, I would like to say that it has totally helped my mother and changed her emotionally and physically. He has 11 different diseases. My father invested so much time and money into helping and trying to find doctors to help him, but there was never anything. Eventually one of her doctors talked about the medical marijuana program and thought it would be a good idea to get her involved. At first she didn't like it, then finally he convinced her to try it and that's it... halfway... getting them out of debt and making money. Therefore, marijuana being passed off for recreational use in Colorado is the first of many things that are bound to happen! Bottom line, marijuana will always be a huge controversy, but it is starting to become more and more normal. Medical Marijuana is a great trial that has been going on for two to five years now and has worked very well. As I stated before, you don't actually hear about anyone dying from marijuana use. Even if you hear about deaths and illnesses caused by other legal things like cigarettes and alcohol.
