I can't think of anyone as confident as my dad. No matter how bad the situation may be, he always knows how to make my day. It doesn't matter how he has to do it; whether it's a joke, a positive thought, a beautiful memory, or even thinking back to an outdated situation, it has always proven to make me smile. When I was fifteen, my father had a heart attack, went into cardiac arrest, and was on life support for a week. It was one of the longest weeks of my life and very emotional. I had overcome some of the worst emotions; such as anger, sadness, anxiety and even depression. Even though it was tough, I knew my dad would want me to stay active and the rest of my family to stay positive. When he finally got off life support, the first thing he said was, "I'm going to get stronger, I'm going to get out of this hospital, and I'm going to carry on as if nothing had happened." His positivity helps me every day when I am struggling with a problem or desperate situation. I will always remember this emotional, yet significant memory. Since my father likes to stay active, he never associates himself with adverse situations or environments that cannot be transformed into positive ones.
