Competitive individuals align themselves with the distributive bargaining process, which results in advantageous outcomes. A competitive individual can enter into conflict and tends to increase animosity and distrust between parties and is generally considered destructive and intentional sabotage leading to a defensive state towards others in the workplace. While the cooperative approach aligns with the interest-based or integrative bargaining process, which leads the parties to seek win-win solutions. Cooperative individuals will negotiate a solution to the problem that will develop better relationships and trust, which will ultimately find mutually beneficial options for the task. Both of these workplace characteristics are good, but they don't work very well in a work environment that is difficult to work in
