Page 8, spoken by the narrator From the beginning of the novel, Shinji is explained as a skilled fisherman who fails his senior year of high school. Thinking that it might not be a "smart book", the author shows Shinji's strong will to become a full-time fisherman. With the dedication of knowing what to become in the future, it seems that nothing can stand in the way of his dreams until this step. After reading this part of the book, I immediately understood that Shinji, the main character, found interest in this person. . From the way the author explained how Shinji looked at the new girl, it is obvious that he already has feelings for this person. I think Shinji will later find a way to get closer to her and end up falling in love. I can relate to this situation because I remember a time when I saw a new face in church. At first I was confused and curious as to who this person was and just ignored the whole new girl idea. A week later I couldn't stop looking at it and I started to like it. Through my experience I can predict that Shinji will fall in love with the girl he met on the beach.a.
