Topic > Animals: Off the Menu or Should We Feed Them Until...

King Lear once turned to the blind Earl of Gloucester and asked, "How do you see the world?" The Gloucester replied, “I see it with feeling.” Shouldn't we all? The fact is that eating meat is criticized in terms of health and is considered ethically wrong. So, with all these negative consequences of eating meat, you would think that actions are being supported. Animals need to be taken off the menu.Animals need to be taken off the menu because; today nine million animals will be killed in slaughterhouses. The human race today will have the blood of nine million cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys and sheep on its hands. These animals will scream in terror, in cages, small sheds and slaughterhouses: vile confinements of absolute desperation. How can slaughter be humane? Because of these horrible prisons we call slaughterhouses, the level of cruelty animals are subjected to is demoralized as "causality". Evidently these animals will suffer from physical and physiological pain. They will suffer for your carnage and your selfish pleasure. We are enslaving these animals. Controversial principles such as racism or sexism are the prejudicial attitude towards members who are similar in race or gender. However, humans are not the only victims of this atrocity; innocent animals are victims of speciesism. According to the Oxford English dictionary, speciesism is the assumption of human superiority. Are we exploiting them for our needs? It goes without saying that the need for food and water, compassion, shelter and the prevention of pain are what you and the animals you kill want. When we suffer, we suffer as equals. Killing a whale is equal in terms of pain to killing a child. Who gave you the right to slaughter her? Incidentally, our Planet is at...... middle of paper ...... On the contrary, several claim that meat has been an essential part of human evolution. Meat is found in the ancestral diet; it is said to have been part of human evolution for 2.3 million years. The protein-dense portion was essential for human brain development. However, according to the American Dietetic Association, a vegetarian diet can meet the protein needs of a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, human anatomy has evolved and can support a vegetarian diet. To conclude, by eliminating animals from the menu we can help the environment, feed the starving population and put an end to cruelty, we shouldn't “love it!” It is wrong to kill at our own peril. Justice must be blind to race, religion and species. You must speak for those who have no voice. In the words of Paul McCartney: “If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be vegetarian.”
