The information he passed on to me was quite disturbing and I was irritated by the treatment he received from his mother. Abby was born hard of hearing and had difficulty growing up because her mother had difficulty doing so. She said her mother would give her hearing aids and call her remotely to find out if she could really hear her or not. She was dragged from one doctor to another but the diagnosis remained the same. As she told the story there was sadness on her face and I wanted to reach out and hug her, but I wasn't sure if it was appropriate. I signaled for her to stop because it's causing her so much pain; Al said it was fine, she'll be fine. He told me he attended Montclair State University for a year and wanted to get a degree in psychology, but changed his mind and dropped out. He hopes to return in the future, but has no idea what field to pursue a degree in. I texted her that going back to school was a good idea, I should tell Al because I didn't want him to be left out of conversations. Al got up and started dancing and said it was because he was happy for her; we all laughed because Al is terrible
