Bipolar disorder is not an easy disease to detect. The patient may suffer for years before being diagnosed and treated. Bipolar disorder can have many outcomes, some of which could lead to damaged relationships, poor job or school performance, and even suicide. Although this long-term disease can cause many problems for patients, treating it correctly can lead to the patient having a full and productive life. Bipolar disorder is a brain disease caused by an underlying problem with specific brain circuits and the balance of brain chemicals called neurotransmitters. Doctors have imaging tools such as (FMRI) which stands for Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging and (PET) which stands for Positron Magnetic Resonance, which allows doctors to take pictures of the brain at work of the patient suffering from this disease. MRI studies have shown that the brains of patients with mental disorders are different from those of a healthy person. The brains of children with bipolar disorder show that their brain is much the same as that of a child with multidimensional disability, which is a disorder in which symptoms overlap with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. It is also very rare for children to develop the illness, although some children call the illness early-onset bipolar disorder. Children with bipolar disorder tend to have more severe mood swings than adults with bipolar disorder. Bipolar disorder is also known as manic-depressive illness which causes unusual changes in mood, energy, and ability to carry out daily activities. These symptoms can be very serious. This disorder develops in early adulthood or late adolescence; sometimes the first symptoms may appear during a person's childhood, some develop the symptoms...... middle of paper ......and or she may still end up with a successful career, satisfying relationships and a happy family life. By treating this disorder correctly and having coping skills, the patient can learn to manage his symptoms well with the help of the surrounding people who love him.
