There was an article titled Why the Woman Can't Have It All and our reading stated that women struggle with both working and being a great mom. Kim is lucky, being able to continue her job while working from home, so she's there to experience being a full-time mom, but Kim also gets to work and earn her own money, too. Kim's family is a traditional family in a way, with Aden's father working away from home every day and his mother staying at home with him, but my aunt also working from home. Kim will be the first to tell you that it's not easy being a good wife, mom, employee, and taking care of household chores, but she'll also be the first to tell you how rewarding it is for her to balance all of her commitments. Comparing Kim to what we learned in class, it has many similarities and differences to our lessons. One example is how he spends more time on household chores than his significant other, and even jobs that don't seem to affect his marital relationship or his child. I sometimes see tension in her role, especially when she's busy at the end of the month, but she's great at balancing everything and doing what's important first, realizing that her most important roles are mom, wife, employee, and then homemaker.
