Medicare Part A covers hospital, hospice and home health care. Part A is paid primarily through the program, but there is an upfront payment where recipients must pay part of the cost. Typically, the cost is around $100. Then there is Medicare Part B which covers outpatient medical care such as doctor visits, lab tests and preventive services. Part B requires a 20% co-payment fee. This can be expensive if used very frequently. Typically, most Americans have these two Medicare plans which together are called original or traditional Medicare since they were the first two Medicare plans ever available to recipients. The third official Medicaid program which is Part C. Part C is also known as the Medicate benefit. This plan uses private insurance compilations used to provide you with health insurance in addition to the benefits you may already be eligible for with Part A and Part B. Additionally, to receive Medicaid benefits, recipients must be currently enrolled in both Medicare Part A that apart from B. Even with Medicare benefits payment is very different than other plans.
