The Illinois trial court is divided into three district courts which are the Northern District (Chicago), the Middle District (Springfield), and the Southern District (East St. Louis). If a party loses the trial, they can appeal to the Illinois Court of Appeals, 7th District, located in Chicago. The 7th District also has jurisdiction over Wisconsin and Indiana.
