The fifth is counterintelligence which, defined by the Merriam-Webster dictionary, is an "organized activity of an intelligence service designed to block the enemy's sources of information, to deceive the enemy, to prevent sabotage, and to gather political and military information ". As for the spies themselves, there are a few different types. There is the double agent who is a spy who pretends to spy for one government while actually spying for another. A double agent is an agent who is intentionally exposed as a double agent and is forced to mislead foreign intelligence services. There is the triple agent which is an agent who works simultaneously for three intelligence services.
