History of Lego In 1932, Ole Kirk Kristiansen founded the LEGO Group. The name "LEGO" is inspired by two words "leg godt" which means "play well" in Danish. Actually, since 1916, Ole Kirk Kristiansen started his business at his own carpentry workshop producing furniture in Billund, Denmark. His workshop began producing small wooden toys in the 1920s. In 1932, his son Godtfred, at the age of 12, began working with him in business. Godtfred worked hard and played an active role in his father's company. He started making patterns when he was 17. In 1947, the Lego Group purchased a plastic injection molding machine and produced some plastic toys. Ole Kirk and Godtfred obtained samples of interlocking plastic bricks produced by the Kiddicraft company. Two years later, Lego began producing similar bricks, then developed them so that these bricks could stick together, but not so tightly that they couldn't be separated. These products have been called "Lego Mursten", or "Lego Bricks" since 1953. Godtfred Kirk Christiansen was appointed junior vice president at the age of 30, when approximately 50 employees worked for the company at the time. In 1954, Godtfred became the junior managing director of Lego and came up with the idea for a new gaming platform called the "Lego System" which included many sets, vehicles and additional elements. In 1958, Lego developed and patented a design that improves the locking ability and versatility of the Ole Kirk Christiansen died that same year and his son became the head of the company. In 1960, a warehouse fire destroyed nearly all of Lego's wooden toys. Godtfred decided to move the company to focus on the production of plastic toys and removed the wooden line. At that time, more t...... half of the paper......ry. However, running a business with many different subcultures in many countries it is not an easy job. The challenge is not only to ensure that every department globally is fully aware of the vision, mission and philosophy of the LEGO Group, but also committed to ensuring that they are innovative and understand the global changing trends of children today . Conclusion The analysis shows that the LEGO Group follows a traditional organizational structure. The CEO has the most power within the organization, but with the influence of the shareholder family. The company also encourages good communication between employees which addresses some of the drawbacks of the old structure. Nowadays, the structure of the LEGO Group has become more flexible to encourage creativity, but it will take time for a large company like the LEGO Group to change its structure from the old organization to the new model..
