Why cosmetic surgery can give people a sense of accomplishment by changing their body and face. Once people get this kind of result by resorting to cosmetic surgery, it creates a strong addiction and could cause them to be addicted to plastic surgery. According to Dr. Howard C. Samuels, "Plastic surgery addicts go to great lengths to have the 'perfect' chin, lips, or breasts, but they don't realize that there is no such thing as a perfect face or body" (Samuels). Additionally, drug addicts will undergo second and third cosmetic surgeries in their quest for the perfect look. However, they will never be satisfied with their appearance, and surgeries will cause physical and mental damage. Cosmetic surgery is unethical because it is easy to cause addiction to cosmetic surgery, which is a kind of psychological disorder. Whether or not they undergo cosmetic surgery, people should be objective about their own appearance and that of others. Professor Ingela Lundin Kvalem states that “And after the surgeries, their symptoms of depression, anxiety, eating disorders and excessive alcohol consumption increased”, because people who consider themselves to be in a bad situation and want to change their position with cosmetic surgery (Ladegaard).
