Lawrence is not as much a part of the film as one would like, but once on stage he is convincing and perfect for the part he plays. Things get even more complicated when Irving and Sydney's scams are discovered by the FBI and an overly ambitious agent, Richie DiMaso, played by an energetic and curly-haired Bradley Cooper. He pushes them to take part in the scam of supposedly corrupt politicians with the help of a fake sheikh and his imaginary millions. Richie is blinded by his wishful thinking and falls in love with Sydney and her fake British accent, and starts courting this fake lady even while under arrest. As if that wasn't enough, Irving begins to feel a genuine friendship for one of the politicians who are supposed to be conned, a beloved Point of Honor (Jeremy Renner), who is the mayor of Camden. David O. Russell weaves all these strings, with the good help of Linus Sandgren's excellent camerawork, very well together in a dynamic, melodic, multidimensional and intelligent entertaining film, which does not at all lack a decisive final con with everyone included .
