Living in this generation as an African American lesbian woman has proven more difficult as the years have passed. We have heard so many terrifying stories about how African American women were treated during the time of slavery. Who would have thought that things would get even worse as an African American lesbian? As the decades passed, circumstances should have improved, but unfortunately in this new era, segregation is still enforced. It's really a shame that we still live in a society that doesn't accept people for who they are. I believe people are people, no matter what. I don't care if a person is blue, green or purple; straight, gay/lesbian or otherwise, I treat them as people regardless. This act focused on heterosexual males and females but did not include lesbian females. Lesbians working in the corporate world are not compensated, even though the law should have denied this type of discrimination. Now there are women discriminated against in the workplace because they are.
