The Beatles and the British InvasionGerrit B. They were a rock band from Liverpool, London, during the British Invasion, a period from 1963 to 1970 when British rock bands came to America. The Beatles didn't come from a wealthy upbringing or a great education, but they made up for it with their incredible talent and passion for music. They began playing as a local band in 1960 before being discovered by their future manager Brian Epstein and brought to America. Once they settled in America, people around the world were inspired by their incredible new style of playing music and how they dramatically changed the rock and roll of the time. The Beatles were the leaders of a musical trend called The British Invasion. The British Invasion was a period in the 1960s when British rockers came to America to further their commercial success. There were two separate waves of the British invasion. The first wave began in 1963 and ended in 1967. The second wave took place from 1967 to 1970. During both waves of the British invasion, many bands came to America. In the first wave, the most popular bands at the time were the Beatles, the Kinks, the Rolling Stones and the Animals. The next wave included Led Zeppelin, Cream, Who, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd. Eventually, there were more than 60 bands from Great Britain that came to America... middle of the paper... called Our World. The switch to electric instruments made their music sound really great and people loved the new technique of playing. The Beatles played a major role in the music industry in the 1960s and their music still has an impact on the music industry today (recording, live performance, clothing... etc.). They introduced America and the rest of the world to a whole new style of playing music. They also changed the way people listened to, appreciated and recorded music. They also inspired many British bands to come to America, leading to the British Invasion, and they also influenced some American bands, such as the Beach Boys and the Monkees. They also began the trend of recording music in the studio instead of playing live concerts. On top of all that they had amazing sounding new music. Music today would not have been the same without the Beatles.
