Essay on Health Care Controversy ObamaCare, also known as the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, is a health care reform law signed into law on March 23, 2010. The goal of ObamaCare is providing more Americans with affordable health insurance services. ObamaCare also hopes to improve the quality of health care and health insurance in America, regulate the health care industry, and reduce the cost of health care in the United States. ObamaCare is made up of ten titles; I: Quality, accessible health care for all citizens of the United States, II: The role of public programs, III: Improving the quality and efficiency of health care, IV: Preventing chronic diseases and improving public health, V: Health Workforce, VI: Program Transparency and Integrity, VII: Improving Access to Innovative Medical Therapies, VIII: Community Living Services and Supports Act (CLASS Act), IX: Revenue Provisions, and 'Indian Health Care Improvement Act. Politician discusses, ObamaCare differs from previous health coverage in many ways. First, ObamaCare now accepts any American, regardless of whether they have a pre-existing condition. Before ObamaCare, if a citizen had a pre-existing condition, health insurance companies would deny the person or vastly increase the price of health coverage. ObamaCare makes it possible to provide affordable health insurance to those with pre-existing conditions. Second, ObamaCare has new coverage rules for applying. A citizen may apply for health coverage under ObamaCare only during an “Open Enrollment Period.” Membership periods usually last about a month, but if you miss that period you will have to wait 6 months before the next membership period...... half of the document......
