Tobacco RegulationTobacco companies have been in battle for a while with anti-smokers over tobacco regulation, and there has been a war between tobacco companies and anti-smoker crusaders tobacco, due to tobacco regulation and some lawsuits. On the one hand, regulating tobacco would be a good thing to do; anti-tobacco crusaders argue that regulating tobacco is necessary to protect public health; on the other hand, the other view is that tobacco companies say that “tobacco regulation will do more harm than good”. There are two sides to this war on tobacco regulation and here's the first angle. According to No Expectations for Cigars, the 2009 federal law that required the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to begin regulating and how the law would regulate tobacco; for example, ban free giveaways of any non-tobacco item with the purchase of a tobacco product or in exchange for coupons or proof of purchase (What FDA Regulation on Tobacco Products Really Means 3). Raising cigarette taxes is an effective way to reduce smoking among teenagers (Kline 139). The first point of view is about regulating tobacco and there are different ways to regulate tobacco and this is one of them, and this would make people not want to spend more money on cigarettes. Ban all remaining tobacco brand sponsorships at sporting and entertainment events (What FDA Regulation of Tobacco Products Really Means 3). Eventually the FTC and Congress banned any radio or television advertising (Congress Requires Warning Labels for Cigarettes 3). The first point of view is about the regulation of tobacco and there are different ways to regulate tobacco and this is another one of them, and this will make the tobacco companies fail to persuade p... middle of the paper.. ..because it's illegal due to tobacco laws. The war between these two may never end. Works Cited “Congress Requires Warning Labels for Cigarettes, January 1, 1966.” Detroit: Gale, 2003.
