Society labels people, and society is just another way of saying people label people. In the words of Wayne Dyer, “when you judge another you don't define them, you define yourself.” This to me isn't a question of hey, this guy does drugs, I should stay away from him, but more of a "to each his own" kind of thing. If someone wants to do something or live a certain way without expense to another person, then by all means let them live that way. Too often today if you behave in a certain way or do something society wants to put people into groups. It's always about groups and separation. I think people are always picking apart others to see who can benefit them and who won't benefit them. Why else do people judge people? The reason judgment and bullying exist in the world is because it is a way people use to feel better about themselves to try to humiliate others or to try to become popular or advance at the expense of others. So I think standing with the LGBTQ community is simply about standing up for people's genuine right to love whoever they want to love. I'm a straight, middle-class white male, so straight that I essentially couldn't be more privileged. I often take for granted that most people think I'm heterosexual. People I've never met
