The Museum of Fine ArtsOne pleasant afternoon, my classmates and I decided to visit the Houston Museum of Fine Arts to begin our museum assignment in world literature class. According to the staff of the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, the MFAH is considered one of the largest museums in the nation and contains many different art forms with more than several thousand years of unique history. Also, I haven't been to a museum in a long time, especially as big as MFAH, and my experience with the museum was unique and enjoyable. While I observed many great types and forms of art in the museum, there were few that interested me more. The first art that interested me was the art of Indonesia which in this exhibition represented the culture, history and art of the Indonesian people. For example, Bali, a small island in Indonesia, valued most of its art based on the rich resources they occupied, as most of the art was made up of gold, diamonds, and sapphires which the people of Bali believed it resembled to their highest standards in society. Art of Bali amazed me the most when it came to their “King's crown” and “Queen's crown” which were completely “fashioned in pure gold with diamonds, rubies and sapphires” (Bali). The king's crown was much simpler than the queen's crown which contained many varieties of gold decorations that looked like gold flowers, and all of its designs such as rubies or sapphires were perfectly aligned horizontally with respect to each other, almost depicted as a shiny necklace. The Balinese art I observed was very interesting to learn about the society lived in those centuries with the representation of their high level society (Bali). Secondly, the art of India fascinated me a lot, especially the 13th century art of "S.... ..half of the paper......the social values of the rich stones resembled their higher standards of living of those days. Furthermore, two different types of art based on Indian culture and society such as “Shiva Nataraja” and “Adios, Mahatma” depicted a great religious and social perspective of Hinduism and the free spirit of Hinduism respectively. will. Furthermore, "Heheya Kachina" and "The Light Inside" presented two unique art forms that are so rare or so common in modern society that we sometimes forget to notice whether these types of art exist Indonesian).19th century.Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, TX.Garcia, Domingo.Farewell, 20th century.Museum of Fine Arts, Houston , TX.Shiva Nataraja. 13th Century Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, TX.Turrell, James.
