Topic > Desire for Money in the Christian Life - 1663

Christians should be content with the house, clothes, and food they have in life. People who love money are greedy and always ask for more but are never happy. The desire for money will cause people to be miserable in this life, and will cause them to lose faith in Jesus Christ and end up in eternal destruction in hell. It's been a long time since I first heard the passage in my business classes. Of course, like many other students with a business degree, money was the reason I chose the major. But over time I realized that I was doing everything for the wrong reasons. When I first read 1 Timothy 6:6-10 on my own, I thought making money was wrong. But I've learned that as long as we do it for the right reasons, like helping others or giving a percentage of what we earn to our church. What pushes us into an evil world is not money, but the “love” of that money. What we do with the money we earn and how we earn it. Christians should be content with the house, clothing, and food they have in life. People who love money are selfish and always ask for more but are never happy. The desire for money will cause people to be in misery in this life, and will cause them to lose faith in Jesus Christ and end up in eternal destruction in hell. We can always find the light at the end of the tunnel and ask for forgiveness. Finding happiness with the little we have and being grateful for it will make us very rich. Let's not argue or get attached to materialistic things. The day we die, all we need is to be in tune with the Lord because we will take nothing else with us. “Serve God, having faith, love, patience and gentleness”. (Tim 6:11) is living right... middle of paper ......od, love for those who need it most, patience with his business and family, and kindness in living according i Word of God. Sam Lee grew up believing that money would solve all problems. He was taught that making money would make him happy. His parents were “Christians” but never encouraged him to go to church. Sam wasn't happy with the normal life he led, he was determined to work harder and better. In his new job he found himself with a new group of friends who only used him for his money. He ended up falling into drug addiction and having alcohol problems, which caused him to lose his job and everything he had. But after all he found God and gave him life. Sam learned that love for God is greater than all money; because God can take away everything we have. But his love will always be there, waiting for us to return.
