There have been many cases in Fresno, California where people have died due to a drunk driving (DUI) accident. People who drive drunk don't just put their lives in danger; they also endanger other drivers, including passengers and pedestrians. Lawmakers must absolutely not give a second chance to any DUI case. Every citizen could save more lives by avoiding dangerous and deadly accidents that a DUI defendant can cause. By making the law much stricter perhaps people will think twice before driving while intoxicated. DUI drivers should be very fine the first time, thrown in jail, have their license revoked, and attend meetings. Everyone's life is very precious and should not end because of a driver who is under the influence of substances. A person who is under the influence of alcohol or anything else that harms the mind and body should not drive any vehicle. Many people know that this will never happen because some people will never learn and won't even bother to listen. Maybe because they think it's cool to do it or they just want to have fun. No matter what causes them to drive while intoxicated, this is why people get fines and/or it can lead to an accident. This is why these people must not be given a second chance to drive a vehicle. To do this the legislator could be more severe; they should fine them heavily the first time. After the government takes all their hard earned money for fines and fees because of the problems they caused, hopefully they will learn a lesson and they won't like it and will probably never want to do it again. Maybe this will open their eyes to see how important it is not to drink and drive because the consequences are not good. After...... middle of paper ......rabid and fatal accidents that can cause DUI Defendant. If defendants wish to use a vehicle again, they face heavy fines the first time, as well as jail time, license revocation, and a DUI encounter. Maybe this will help defendants think twice before trying to drive drunk. Or, if necessary, they should have a designated driver or use the pickup service, where anyone can call a driver to pick them up or drop them off anywhere. If we all agreed to be stricter in this legislative area we could even help save more lives than we think. And surely more and more people are able to respect and honor the law instead of breaking it.
