Topic > The Truth About Technology - 1426

Technology has affected the world today in many different ways. Today, instead of playing with colored pencils and watercolors, children fiddle with iPads and other electronic devices. Furthermore, people of older generations have no choice but to adapt to modern technology. Philosophers often say that technology is a developing field of science. When it comes to this topic, most of us will readily agree that technology has made life in general easier, making what the world has to offer more accessible wherever you are. However, this topic usually ends with the question: “are people overly dependent on technology?” While some are convinced that this promotes the good of the people, others argue that it will lead to self-destruction. Today, technology has made a large population of people dependent on it, the average human being cannot go twenty-four hours without it. The list of things technology has changed goes on. Money transactions can be made online through the process known as online banking. This means that people do not have to go to the bank to receive, send or withdraw money. If something goes wrong and the Internet goes down, people who earn money for a living online will be quite defenseless. Furthermore, the fact that the security of the President of the United States of America is as dependent on technology as it is on Secret Service agents is not something that citizens will want to know about. Of course, followers of both Tim Cook and Bill Gates will likely suggest otherwise and argue that people today are not overly dependent on technology on the grounds that technology has given people electronic devices and the Internet that make life much easier ... middle of paper ... ....as they fantasize about the newest and fastest technology becoming available, America will begin to miss the spark of paradise that was once called "The New World." In conclusion, those who are overly dependent on technology, can become paralyzed when technology is not available and for that of a country, it will be left open to threats. Our dependence on technology today can only lead to a completely technological future, and this is not favorable for humans.
