Topic > Personality Types - 1027

Personality is something that is related to a person's characteristic pattern, thinking, feelings, and behavior (Cherry, 2014). Many theories have been formulated to describe personality (Cherry, 2014). Everyone has their own unique personality. Different person has different personality and each personality type has its own advantages and weaknesses. Everyone should appreciate their own personality, but also that of others. It is important to understand other people so that everyone can easily get along. However, according to Littauer (1983), everyone must first understand themselves, before understanding others. Everyone should know what kind of personality he has. According to Littauer (1983), there are four personality types: melancholic, sanguine, choleric, and phlegmatic (refer to Figure 1 in Appendix 1). The first personality type is melancholic or also known as perfect melancholy. People who have this personality type are usually perfectionists. Everything they do must be perfect and done correctly. They are also well organised, clean and tidy. They usually don't like to see clutter around them. From an emotional point of view, they are very concerned about other people and also sensitive to the acquisitions of others. When finding friends or companions, they are very careful because they also want perfect friends and companions who fully meet their needs. Furthermore, I am also a detailed person. They used to list everything they would do and even the things they would like to buy. They usually have a serious personality. However, the good thing is that they are born with genius potential and are also talented and creative. Instead of being good... middle of paper... According to Engler (2009), the choleric individual has a violent and irascible character. The main problem of a powerful choleric is that he is very stubborn and gets angry easily (Hock, 1934). The solution suggested by Littauer (1983), a powerful choleric should also listen to the perspective of others and practice always being patient. Works Cited Cherry, K. (2014). What is personality?
