Sigmund Freud: Changing the way we think about the way we thinkSigmund Freud, the father of psychoanalysis, is famous throughout the world. His views and interpretations of human behavior that he presented in his arguments always pushed me to take a deeper look at myself. It opens up a new way of seeing things. Speaking of Freud, there is never a dull or dull moment, there is always a way you can look at yourself and see something you didn't see before. Physiologist, doctor, neurologist (someone who studies the nervous system), psychologist. The id, the ego and the superego. The unconscious mind. Sexual drives as the primary motivation of life. Often also considered a pedophile, but there is much more to this man and his mind! He founded the discipline of psychoanalysis. He is known for his theories on the unconscious mind, i.e. the id, the ego and the superego, and the mechanism of repression. Repression is an attempt to reject or push away natural instincts and desires. Freud also created the clinical method of psychoanalysis to question and understand the mind and how it operates. Psychoanalysis also helped in the treatment of psychopathology, mental illness and abnormal behavior, through dialogue between the ill patient and a psychoanalyst. Freud also said that sexual drives were the primary motivation and force of human life. He interpreted dreams as sources of understanding unconscious desires. He was an early researcher and contributed to the treatment of mental illnesses such as aphasia and cerebral palsy. Also a prolific essayist, he wrote 15 books and countless essays, he drew on psychoanalysis, and the understanding it brought, to contribute to culture and humanity. Freud was born Jewish in... middle of paper. .....oanalysis and opened the way to the entire field of verbal psychotherapy, i.e. hypnosis. "Subsequent systems have differed in certain respects with respect to therapy and technique, but all have been built around Freud's fundamental discovery that if one can arrange a special set of conditions and make the patient talk about his difficulties in a certain way, many types of behavior changes can be achieved." said Donald H. Ford and Hugh B. Urban. Freud changed the face of psychology forever, and given that he was a cocaine addict, and possibly a pedophile, he was a brilliant scholar and a bold man.
