Team RatingPlease note that the opinions expressed below are a generalization of the organization. Specific opinions may or may not apply to specific individuals. Communication Communication between me and team members is good/on track for the time I have been here. Communication between team members is good, but it should be great considering how long they've been together. The biggest obstacles to better communication are fear of conflict and lack of trust. These obstacles exist at various levels across the team and all levels of staff; among them, IT management and senior management. Trust Part of the lack of trust comes from the team's behavior in the past and their lack of transparency. Previously the team had broad ability to do what they wanted with little oversight. Now it has become necessary to understand what the team is doing in more detail and occasionally question their assumptions. This has put some people on the defensive and created trust issues. Trust between me and team members varies and it's too early for them to have specific concerns - it's a general wait-and-see approach. However, I feel like the information flow to me is relatively low. If I ask a question, I will get an answer. But the team isn't necessarily available to provide information. It's what I don't know that worries me.MoraleTeam morale and job satisfaction is generally low. Either he doesn't like working here or not as much as he used to. People are worried about the stability of their jobs. One side believes that Dave wants to fire them all, possibly moving the IT function to New York. The team isn't sure what steps Dan or Dave might take... middle of paper... definitely the other way: If they can't make all the decisions, they won't make any. The team shows minimal ability to manage promises. Commitments are made but may or may not be kept and in any case they are not managed. The sequel is missing. There are no consequences for missing or keeping a commitment. Analyzing previous work and current behaviors, I believe the team has a low propensity to accept new ideas and alternatives. The team constantly tells me why things can't be done or "we've always done it this way", instead of spending energy on developing options to solve the problem. Lack of initiative is the biggest problem with this team. Everyone has an opinion on what should be done. They can easily identify where their weak points are. But no one has shown the will to step up and do something about it.
