is the largest river island in Meghalaya and the second largest river island in Asia, after Majuli Island in Assam. It is located about 14 km from Nongstoin, the district town of West Khasi Hills. it takes about two and a half hours to reach the island from Shillong. There is also a wooden bridge over the Weinia waterfall to enter the island. Nongkhnum Island is surrounded by the Phanliang and Namliang Rivers. In addition to the beautiful waterfalls, there are trees and meadows on the island. There are fishing pools near the sandy beach called Wei-Phanliang.
