Denver Developmental Screening Tool (DDST) The Denver Developmental Screening Tool (DDST) is a series of tests that are administered to a child to evaluate its development. There are four different categories including; personal-social, fine-adaptive motor skills, language and gross motor skills. While the DDST is not intended to predict delays that may occur in the future, it is helpful to identify current delays that your child may face. Help parents and caregivers obtain the means to refer specialists for more complex tests. Permission KL's mom and I have been friends for 10 years and when I went to her asking if I could run a series of tests on KL She was more than willing to participate. I explained everything to her, from the setup of the procedure, to whether it would be better for her not to be there, to the steps of the test, and even what the tests will show about KL's development. I have received full clearance to complete the DDST on KLName. The little girl I tested will be named KL. I tested her on April 14, 2016. KL is 2 years old, with her exact age being 2 years, 9 months, and 14 days. I called and asked her mother if she would mind leaving KL with me for a few hours so I could take the test, and then pick her up once the test was complete. This test is more accurate when the caregiver is not present. KL has a stepsister and a little brother on the way. He has always attended nursery school, because his grandmother is a carer. KL was born full term via scheduled cesarean section due to her mother's small pelvis. There were no complications during this pregnancy. KL weighed 8 lbs. 4 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long at birth, now weighing in the... middle of the paper... of the paper with ease. He received his first failure when we managed to balance on each foot for 5 seconds. Considering her need for independence and her activity level, it is very important that her parents know to keep an eye on her and not allow her to be in a potentially dangerous situation. Conclusion KL did very well on the DDST test. It was within the normal range for each category. She was able to perform every task I asked of her in her age range and even some beyond, which completely amazed me, given her age. He needs some work on his tongue, but I feel like that will come with time. Her mother will work with her on this and see if she can improve it and one day we may try this test again. KL is your normal happy, funny, go-lucky two-year-old. I can't wait to watch her grow up and see all the changes that I know will blow me and her mom away!
