• On the Bus Ride Chris Gardner, a salesman selling bone density scanners, has struggled to support his family financially, but it has proven to be a task arduous as most hospitals considered scanners an unnecessary and expensive luxury. Unable to sell bone density scanners, Chris has had difficulty paying rent, parking tickets, and daycare fees for his son, which has caused emotional distress for his wife. During one of his trips to sell the scanner in the city, he met a person who owned a red Ferrari and several happy and successful people in front of an office building, which inspired his determination to become a stockbroker.
