First I have to develop myself in my leadership behavior by understanding each of these behaviors and what characteristics to apply them, in my previous PDP I stated "I believe that for me to be a great leader I need to be able to have balance and awareness about different leadership styles, I would like to improve my skills on how to become a better communicator, increased level of intelligence, self-awareness, integrity.” understand the vision and mission of my leadership so that we are all on the same page, so use the path-goal theory to the fullest in other cases, to effectively apply the right leadership behavior you need to be aware of your own subordinates and task characteristics. “Path-goal theory predicts that subordinates who have strong affiliative needs prefer supportive leadership because friendly, concerned leadership is a source of satisfaction” (Northouse 141). In addition to understanding that leaders help subordinates overcome obstacles present in others to achieve better results, such as work frustration or any work-related issue, by doing so leaders increase subordinates' expectations that they can complete the task and increase the own work.
