However, there is much more that has changed America over time. One of the most influential people who helped this change was Elvis Presley. Through his music, influenced by black artists, he allowed white Americans to see a new group of artists. He tested social boundaries which helped him change American culture. His appearance and singing ended up changing the world of teenagers by introducing new trends in fashion and music. Presley was the reason we have Rock-N-Roll. As a businessman and singer, he brought America together in a new kind of society; so it is one of the main reasons why America became the way it is today. Elvis Presley is seen as the King of Rock-N-Roll. At the time Elvis didn't realize how this would affect the country. A month after the Supreme Court case was decided, Brown v. Board, Elvis would have signed a contract with a producer and would have changed a lot in his music, his way of dancing and his clothes. New steps would form and teenagers would start picking them up. Several appearances on talk shows and concerts could be seen on the streets and at school by young teenagers. Teenagers aged ten to eighteen drooled over Presley, which caused a huge controversy. The lyrics to his Elvis songs were nothing bad but simply something that would make listeners dance and have fun. His music was the first thing that caught American's attention. BB King once said that Elvis was "a white guy but he looked black." This was true. Elvis' music was a mix of African-American blues, Christian gospel and Southern country. Elvis,……middle of paper……their children listen to or watch Elvis Presley for any reason. This caused some problems in family life. Children are bitter and adults become angry at their children. The children would rebel and some would even sneak out more often. Elvis ended up changing family life and family life through his dancing and music. Although many people see Elvis Presley only as an entertainer, Elvis was much more than that. He wanted to change America through his music and dance. He did just that but also much more. He helped shape our country to be more open about many different topics. Elvis is the reason we have Rock-N-Roll and he may also be the reason we have newer music today. Elvis would have a great impact on our society and change the way adults looked at things. It has sparked tensions and a lot of controversy but it is what is needed to generate change.
