If only my local library could hold the vast amount of information that my portable smartphone holds. Carr insinuates that Google (and the Internet) are making us stupid. I say they are making us lazy. In Nicholas Carr's "Is Google Making Us Stupid" he informatively states that with the advancement of technology, the Google search engine and the Internet we have become more distracted, with all the different forms of flash media, the amount of hyperlinks after hyper -link after hyperlink and clickable additions-- in turn we are doing less critical reading via the Internet than in a printed book. Be able to browse several articles in verses of hours and days by flipping through books; being able to jump from link to link to get the information you need, never looking at the same page twice has reduced our deep thinking and reading skills.
