As the world grew, its people began to explore, expand, and seek one another. From 1000 to 1600 Man has gone further than his ancestors could have ever imagined. And with this exploration came both negative and positive side effects. Some of the positive aspects include the movement from land to sea for trade routes, the Renaissance and the vast amount of knowledge that came with it, and new trade routes began to emerge. However there were also negative aspects of intercontinental trade such as; the many different warlords who came and killed thousands of people in the pursuit of land and other riches, an example of this would be the Mongols, the Black Death that took the lives of so many, and finally the slave trade that flourished from new trade routes and intercontinental communication. Between 1000 and 1300 a change occurred that sent long-distance trade from land to sea. Numerous technological advances have made sea routes safer and more profitable than previously used land routes. This change brought about a change in the way business was handled and other transactions were handled....
