Throughout history, imperialism has led countries to extend their rule over weaker countries and then colonize them to expand their power. Imperialism allows countries in power to use weaker countries for their resources. Colonizing other countries would therefore lead to growth and a better reputation for the dominant country. There are many examples of imperialism in European history. When many European countries “battled” over Africa, it seemed that Africa had no say in anything. Throughout the 19th century, Europe found ways to exploit Africa for its own growth and power. Using Africa for their resources, Europeans colonized Africa without a second thought. European imperialism in Africa had a negative impact due to the social disorder, cultural loss and death it caused. When Europeans began invading Africa and dividing the territory, they paid no attention to the natural boundaries that already existed.
