Animal Farm written by George Orwell is an exceptional novel based on the experience of communism in Russia. The characters are given fake names instead of the names of the real people who started communism. When the story begins, Mr. Jones, the owner of the farm, comes home drunk and unconscious and immediately goes to sleep. Old Major, a wild boar, is holding a meeting for all the animals on the farm. He informs them all of a dream he had about animals all living together in peace without humans ever controlling them. Old Major said that all animals are born slaves. None of the work they do is for themselves. Without humans, they could live their lives as they want. After all the animals discuss this suggestion, they decide to agree with Old Major. Then create a list of principles to follow according to which no animal should ever accept the ways and habits of man. The meeting ends with a song called "Beasts of England". Three nights later, Old Major died a natural death. Three pigs with the names of Napoleon, Snowball and Squealer take the place of Old Major and create Animalism. Animalism is the fundamental principle affirmed by Old Major before he died. Each animal begins to call itself "Companion" to declare friendship and equality. After a while, the animals couldn't handle all the obliviousness that Mr. Jones was showing, and so they broke out in rebellion. The animals were all surprised because it wasn't supposed to happen until later, but the animals united. It ends with a victory for the animals and Mr. Jones, including his wife and his employees, escape from the farm. Then Snowball replaced the Manor Farm inscription with a new name, Animal Farm. Since Mr. Jones left, the animals are... in the center of the paper... ed. The windmill is finally finished and has begun its work. The only change is that the windmill will be used to grind corn and not to generate power. One day Napoleon went out in public and everyone was surprised. Napoleon and all the other pigs walked on their hind legs, just like humans do. Some animals return to the list of commandments and see only one remaining commandment that states, "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others." The pigs all went to the meetinghouse to meet the owners of nearby farms. Pigs were praised by humans for making all workers do their jobs for less or no pay. The animals overheard the situation but then come back to tell what was happening. When they return to see what was happening, Clover can't figure out which of them were pigs or humans. They all looked the same.
