“A new study from the Girls Scout Research Institute (GSRI), “Generation STEM: What Girls Say, About Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM),” shows that Most girls have an interest in STEM, but when they think about future careers, they don't prioritize STEM fields” (“Study Reveals What Girls Say About STEM,” 18). “Additionally, 57% of girls who said they would pursue a STEM career said they would have to work twice as hard as men to earn respect” (“Study Reveals What Girls Say About STEM”). Data shows that men have a habit of giving women a hard time in these fields. Women are also disrespected in these fields because men cannot accept the idea that women can have a career and succeed in a scientific field. While not all men feel the same way, some of them will probably dispute my assertion that women continue to be groomed
