IntroductionThe objectives of this case study are to gather empirical evidence through comprehensive research to make an observable difference in spouses caring for loved ones with dementia. The challenge that spouses face in providing care for a loved one with dementia can be overwhelming. We first assessed the quality of life of spouses caring for a loved one with dementia. Second, we wanted to provide concrete tools for spouses caring for loved ones with dementia. Third, we wanted to educate and educate on improving the quality of life of spouses. Background of the Problem According to Alzheimer's Disease International (ADI), dementia is one of the most common disorders among older adults. The ADI estimates that there are 30 million people currently living with this disease worldwide, with 4.6 million new cases diagnosed each year (Pasitta et al., 2013). The proposed research method used for the research was to review articles whose research involved spousal caregivers who are caring for their spouse with dementia. The objectives of the research were to evaluate the caregiver spouse's quality of life and how interventions could improve it. Provide concrete tools to spouses caring for loved ones with dementia. The ultimate goal was to educate and coach on improving the quality of life of spousal caregivers. Lazarus and Folkman's theory of stress and coping was chosen as the theoretical framework. The PICO application was based on John Hopkins' evidence-based practice evaluation of research studies and literature review.
