Better known as Cesc Fabregas, Cesc has achieved more in his career at the slender age of 20 than most football players do in their entire careers, yet his skills and stardom can only increase with more seasons at shouldersCesc Fabregas was born on May 4, 1987 in Arenys de Mar, Catalonia, Spain. He was destined to become a footballer and at the age of 13 he was signed by Spanish giants Barcelona FC as an apprentice. Cesc was touted as one of the best Spanish footballers of the next generation. With this in mind, during the summer of 2003 and a few months after he turned 16, the English club "Arsenal" decided to make a big step forward for the teenage phenomenon and took him away from Barcelona for free, because he was still with a youth contract and that he could only sign a professional contract with Barcelona when he turned 17. Three months after consistent performances in both Arsenal's youth and reserves, Cesc made history in October 2003 when he became the youngest player to play for Arsenal, in the Carling Cup match against Rotherham United, all He was just 16 years and 177 days old when he took to the pitch for the Gunners. His second appearance for Arsenal resulted in him becoming Arsenal's youngest goalscorer in a 5–1 Carling Cup defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers. Cesc would not make another appearance for the senior team that season as Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger seemed necessary for Cesc to continue his progress through the youth team. At the end of that season Fabregas was voted player of the tournament at the 2003 FIFA U-17 World Championship and won the Golden Boot after his six goals helped Spain reach the final. It was that tournament which finally made his manager decide to put him under the spotlight and the following season saw the Spaniard make the leap to the first team proper, when he was selected to play in the Charity Shield match against Manchester United.
