Many people may text while driving thinking that nothing will happen to them or that they will be able to successfully multitask. The truth is, they are simply too stubborn to accept that texting while driving is dangerous. Some drivers may simply have to learn their lesson when it is too late and unfortunately they are the cause of an accident. Even if a driver reads SMS statistics while driving, he will find a way to justify it. 77% of young adults are very or somewhat confident that they can safely text while driving, and 55% of young drivers say it is easy to text while driving (“DWI” 1). These statistics are heartbreaking and unfortunate, because many drivers do not value the lives of the passengers in their car or the drivers on the road.
