Beato states that although adding Internet Addiction Disorder to the DSM may have some positive effects such as obtaining health insurance that can cover partial expenses for detox , gives too much importance to the negative aspects (para. 11). So shouldn't we try to solve the problem of Internet Addiction Disorder? Next, Greg Beato says, “Is it too late to go back to our older, healthier, more balanced ways of living and simply spend all our leisure hours watching Love Boat reruns?” (para. 12). We seem to have always resigned ourselves to our future with Internet addiction. He could have concluded the article by using a motivational statement that encourages people to recognize their addiction. Furthermore, throughout his article he presents Internet addiction, its consequences and solutions to cure it, but he could have also provided some preventive methods to avoid Internet addiction. Don't we say that prevention is better than cure? For example, to prevent Internet addiction you should try to reduce the time you spend in front of the computer. Or you may find hobbies or interests that will help you maintain it
