Money! Money! Money! America loves making money, spending money; However, what Americans, including myself, don't want to hear is that our country is struggling to create currency. Somehow, your daily life is affected due to a big problem you are facing. The issue that has affected me greatly in the past and still affects me at the same time is definitely the unfortunate recession that our economy is facing, which has caused chaos in my family and has almost permanently damaged my hopes of achieving anything with my education . Unemployment rates are at an all-time low, oil prices are staggering; companies lose huge amounts of money day after day. The economy is causing complete pandemonium and has greatly affected my and my family's lives. According to President Barack Obama, who claims to help us progress and emerge from the economic crisis, "money is not the only answer, but it makes a difference." For the most part I agree with President Obama's statement, however, for me and my family money has been crucial due to the recession and the unemployment rate dropping to record numbers. Money is essential and very necessary in my family. For the most part, both of my parents have never had any complications managing bills and household payments for as long as I can remember. However, around January of 2008, both of my hardworking parents employed in management positions were struggling to pay their monthly mortgage due to a sudden loss of hours from their jobs. Every day more and more Americans were fired. It almost felt like our country was slipping significantly and that the ability of middle-class Americans to advance financially was very weak. Ross Perot once said, “A weak currency is… the middle of paper… ck Obama is doing everything in his power, as I understand it, to regulate the economy and try to rebuild it as much as possible ". . A recession is a very difficult thing to deal with, believe me, I know. I'm still dealing with it currently. If I'm not mistaken, it seems to me that money is really what matters. I believe the only reason our economy has done so badly and why we are in a recession is due to nothing less than greed. “There's a lot of energy to keep this economy going” (Steve Forbes). Eventually the economy will rebuild itself. Once the situation improves and this unfortunate recession ceases to exist, we must recognize it and keep it that way for as long as possible. We would not want our great country, the power that it is, to be seen as a lost cause due to economic problems. Works cited not yet completed.
