Odio says that ¨Poetry is not a set of ideas and words but a substantial order. A poem is the action of the Word. It is therefore impossible to analyze it, to isolate it down to the last chord. They are not just poems about love but they are movements of emotions, of blood and sweat and of the earth. They are poems that speak of a true soul. Eunice Odio is a poet who puts on paper the essence of the abstract mind of the human being. Although Eunice Odio is known to most as a poet, she has written in other genres. He wrote short stories and critical essays on art and literature. But for all his poetry, he has not gained much attention from the Costa Rican public and literary critics.
