Haptic Interfaces The use of haptic interfaces on everyday devices has revolutionized the way we interact with computers and mobile devices for everyday use. In this article, I will argue that Haptic interfaces will be used in my Car Checker application, because they will be useful with light and stimulating jolts of haptic feedback regarding the buttons pressed in the application and the vibrations that accompany the application notifications. Before we talk about the different reasons why the haptic interface will be useful in the car control application, some basic knowledge about haptic interfaces will be discussed in order to provide a context for the use of the haptic interface. Basic information about haptic interfaces Before the benefits of implementing haptic interface in car control application, it is necessary to provide an explanation of the basic information about haptic interfaces. Cory Janssen of Techpodia.com defines Haptic Interfaces as "a system that allows a human to interact with a computer through bodily sensations and movements." (Paragraph 1). The definition refers to the accompaniment of the tactile senses in human-computer interaction, because, for example, pressing a button on a touchpad might feel like touching a keyboard. Haptic interfaces are now becoming a more important part of our lives than in the past, when haptic interfaces weren't talked about as much. An example from William Harris of howstuffworks.com is the “CyberGrasp System,” from Immersion Corporation, which he describes as “This device fits over the user's entire hand like an exoskeleton and adds resistive force feedback to each finger . Five actuators produce the forces, ...... half of the paper ...... optical interfaces are advantageous for human-computer interaction and will be used in car control application, due to the tactile effects which the haptic interface is known for. The Haptic interface will be realistic for the buttons within the car control application. Further investigation is needed before other haptic interfaces can be applied to the car control application other than those included in the paper. Works Cited Janseen, Cory. Tactile interface.
